My Dearest Mother,
Thanks very much for two letters received last Thursday. I was very glad to receive them as it was such a long time since last I had heard from you. However had about 4 newspapers the latest being January 3rd. Was glad to hear that you were all keeping very fit. What a pity that all Busters kids had whooping cough at the festive season. Suppose they will be kept in quarantine for a while. I hope you received my Christmas mail in time for Xmas as I wrote it about 6 weeks before time.
Am glad to say that we have finished the final exams for this place and are waiting for the results. Those that I have heard so far are pretty satisfactory so hope the result of the rest will be as good. When the weather is fine we fly all day so it is quite pleasant now as we have to do at least 50 hours before we can move on to the next station at the end of which all being well we get the

much coveted wings.
Had quite a decent day yesterday and the sun shone nearly all day. Of course we did quite a lot of flying and though it was pretty cold the country looked quite nice all covered in snow. However I think the “veld” would look much better.
Well dear mother must close as there is nothing new to say because we are pretty much the same each day and all day.
Much love to you all from
your loving son
Donald
