Dear Mum, Dad & Moira
Classified at last & continuing training as PILOT. Whoopee !!!. I could hardly believe my ears. They read out all air-bombers navigators & Navigator bombers first & then Pilots. Every name I thought would be mine under Air bomber, but it wasn’t. About 50% of the chaps are u/t Pilots.
The C.O. gave us a few stirring words(?) & then we were dismissed.
The new intake has arrived to-day & Matt Wilkinson
[page break]
& Pete De Guecen etc, are with them. All of the old “B” Flight at Stratford are here & most of them have passed as pilots. Good show!
There is a definately [sic] good chance that I shall get home this weekend, but dont [sic] bank on it. If I get it I shall just arrive on Friday evening as we shan’t know until dinner time.
I shall now be able to increase your allowance now Mum as I shall continue to get flying pay now.
Cheerioh [sic]
Love
Terry
