During the latter part of his service in No. 2 Group, F/Lt A.E. Biscoe assisted, with another F/Lt., in the management of No. 2 Group Gliding Club.

During these three or four months I had ample opportunity to appreciate the abilities of F/Lt Biscoe in the general management of the Club and its gliding activities. He was very much alive to the need for safety precautions in the organisation on the Gliding Field, and he always insisted upon strict flying discipline on the part of all pupils, and club members as well as attendants and instructors. He has a tactful, cheerful, but firm manner, and is not afraid to insist on the observance of safety regulations by high-ranking officers.

He took part in the instruction given to a number of Group personnel who themselves were intended to instruct at other Clubs. He also took a big part in the management of the Club premises, workshops, hangar and German technical staff, which was carried out efficiently and without fuss or bother. With his aircrew training and experience in the Royal Air Force, I regard him as eminently suitable to take over the management of a civilian gliding club and to give gliding instruction.

This Officer has initiative, plenty of drive and common sense and was extemely [sic] keen to make a success of his duties and responsibilities. I am sure he will give loyal and devoted service in this capacity.
