Description

Four low level aerial oblique photographs of Cologne.
Photo 1 shows the cathedral and the destroyed bridges. On the reverse is annotated 'Cologne May 16th '45'.
Photo 2 is taken a little further south of the cathedral and shows the damage to the city, the river and a destroyed bridge. On the reverse is annotated 'Cologne May 16th '45'.
Photo 3 is the cathedral and the railway station, on the reverse is annotated 'Cologne May 16th '45'.
Photo 4 is damaged buildings with the church of St Pantaleon in the top middle. On the reverse is typed 'German Town. Note that even buildings which at first glace [sic] appear to be intact are nothing but outer shells. Germany 1945'.
