Letter [underlined] No. 25. [/underlined]
Thursday. 1.35 pm.
My Dear Mother & Dad,
I received your Wednesday’s letter at lunch time today, just after I got up, having been on duty last night. I & the boys & Rooster are all O.K & in good spirits & pressing on.
Thank you for offering to send more cigars for Hammy, but he is equipped for the moment not having had much chance recently to smoke them. Yes I like Turkish cigarettes & so does Hammy, but as you say, they are a luxury & I do not wish to smoke them regularly. I think if you did intend sending Hammy cigars, I should alter it to Turkish cigarettes next time, but hang on for a bit yet.
Thank you for promising to send

the suitcase along. I shall be needing it now & I should like to have it by me in readiness.
Glad the conditioned mower did its job all right. Was it difficult to push?
Auntie Dorothy sent 40 Senior Service cigarettes & sent a letter in reply to mine. Yes the Nav. results went up on the board again classed as “last night’s best”.
Did I tell you that on Tuesday night I saw a film called ‘Ali Baba’ in technicolor [sic] & thoroughly enjoyed it? The Indian girl was wizard. You would like it because of the scenes of daring & horse riding.
Well I must press on now so you must excuse [indecipherable word]. Hope you are both keeping well, I send all my love & best wishes as ever.
Glad the parcel arrived. Douglas.
