16/11/1944. A daylight attack on Duren.
A photograph taken by J-Jig of 35 Squadron flown by P/O Murrell. The photograph shows the attack well under way with bombs bursting & fires burning fiercely. Three other Lancasters are shown in the photograph, illustrating the technique of ‘stepping’ aircraft in an attack. Height 16000’. Heading 060 degrees. Bomb load 1 by HC4000lb 4 by ANM65Dt incendiary, 6 by MC500lb.
