An account of the resource
93 items. The collection contains two oral history interviews with Jim Wright, letters, cuttings and photographs. It concerns James Roy Wright’s research into his father, Sergeant Arthur Charles Wright (1911 - 1943, 1149750 Royal Air Force) and an operation to Turin 12/13 July 1943 which caused 100 aircraft to violate Swiss airspace. The crews are identified with photographs and there are several photographs of the funerals at Vevey. Additional material includes aerial photograph of bomb damage in Germany and the logbook and airman's pay book of W G Anderson.

The collection has been donated to the IBCC Digital Archive by Jim Wright and catalogued by Nigel Huckins, with descriptions of official Swiss documents provided Gilvray Williams.

Additional information on Arthur Charles Wright is available via the IBCC Losses Database. Title
A name given to the resource
Essen, Krupps
Description
An account of the resource
Vertical aerial photograph of bombed workshops. It is captioned 'Essen (Krupps)'. Majority of buildings shown are damaged or severely damaged, many are entirely without roofs. One smaller building to upper centre with a clerestory roof appears intact. This building has railway sidings entering from the top. Shadows from this building to a wrecked building below it (with a chimney stack) suggest presence of elevated conveyors or pipelines between them. Two further examples of these elevated structures run to the right at ninety degrees. Four further chimney stacks are shown. Three are in a line top left and the fourth in upper centre left. Railway sidings with wagons throughout, with main grouping running diagonally top right, to bottom right.
