Dear Mr. & Mrs. Madgett,
We received your kind letter of May 9th and it gave us a deep sense of gratitude that you could spare the time and thought and the caring again of your wounds to commiserate with us in your great loss. My wife and I have often in the past few weeks put our thoughts and hopes into those channels through which your prayers have led now, and, through our own pain have measured the sorrow and distress which you and your younger son have suffered.
We two families have a great deal to be proud of and there is no doubt whatever that boys like ours, with their faith and love of home life , were determined to fight for “Dad, Mum and Brother” with the same zest as though taking part in a tennis match.

We have the satisfaction that Kenneth had set himself a straight and narrow path through which, in peace or war, he was to follow Christ.
Assiduously he has followed this – we know he won through.
Most lads of course were of the same spirit.
So they both would have received the “Well done good and faithful servant, enter now into the joy of thy Lord”.
We both hope shortly to have the pleasure of meeting you all.
With thoughts that we feel are mutual.
Yours very sincerely
Mrs. & Mr. G.J. Marriott
