Description

Full length portrait of two aircrew officers standing talking in an officers' mess. Both are wearing tunics and bow ties. The flight lieutenant on the left has air signallers (S) brevet and Distinguished Flying Cross ribbon. He has hands in pocket. Leonard Cheshire on the right wears group captain rank and Victoria Cross ribbon and is smoking a cigarette. In the background a steward in white jacket. On the reverse '5:57, 8, V85879'. The air signaller is reported as Jock Moncrieff. Additional information about this item was kindly provided by the donor.
