Dear Jessie,
After a great struggle I have got my long week end pass but this morning I realy [sic] thought we were going to be disappointed. As I told you Monday I had applied for it and it appears that there were a lot too many so the Flight Leader drew lots and I lost. When I got home last night the boys in my room told me I was unlucky. You can imagine how I felt. When the F.[Flight] Leader came in I was out but they all told him how miserable I would be and showed him your picture and Pams and said how anxious I was to see [deleted]them [/deleted] you. The outcome of their appeal was that the F.L. came in this morning and said that a chap named Steward might not want his pass. I met him and after much humming and haring he decided to let me have it. I'll tell you all the news Friday home about 7.P.M.
Lots of love
Harry
