I was very sorry and upset to hear from Hilda that Ian was missing and I offer to you my heart felt [sic] sympathy in this time of trouble and worry and trust and pray that he is safe somewhere. I do think Kath that you will hear some good news in the near future so please try and bear up Kath.
I heard from Hilda again this weekend she said that you had written a card to them and she also said that Muriel had got a very bad cough and Hilda herselve [sic]

I hope that Tony and David are keeping fit and well I guess they find you plenty to do Kath. Well I will close now Kath and sincerely hope that by the time you receive this letter that [corrected] you [/corrected] have had the news that Ian is quite safe and please let us know Kath and remember me to Tony and David also your Mother and Father.
