9th August, 1944.
Dear Mrs. Wynn,
Although we are still, unhappily, without any news of your husband, Sergeant I A. Wynn No. 1024298 Royal Air Force, we are writing to tell you of a further report which we have now received through the International Red Cross Committee about Pilot Officer Russell and Flying Officer Petts, who were flying in the same aircraft.
The German authorities state that the burial of these two officers took place in the Military Cemetery at Venlo, Province of Limburg, Holland, thus indicating in what locality the disaster had occurred. We believe that you would wish to have this statement in your possession, and it is for this reason we are sending it on to you. Unfortunately no information was given regarding the other members of your husband’s crew.
You will know that our efforts on your behalf are continuing and anything which may come to our knowledge concerning your husband or any of his companions will be passed to you
P.T.O.

without fail.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Ampthill
