My [underlined] dear Rosemary [/underlined] Many thanks for your letter dear and I am glad to hear that most of the girls are going home for Half Term altho’ I must say that I’m surprised. I have tonight written to Miss Stopford saying that you will come home. Enclosed please find £1. ie [sic] two 10/- notes to cover your travelling expenses etc. Please do not think that Mummy & I did not [underlined] want [/underlined] you to come home my dear girl [page break] we imagined that all the girls would remain at school on account of the uncertainty of Railway travel at the present time & also its delays & discomfort which we wished you to be spared. Make sure that you wear your warmest clothes as the train may [underlined] not [/underlined] be heated & the journey may be prolonged. As Mummy has to go to the Dentist on Friday afternoon you had better come straight home from Manchester. You must get a ticket at the booking office for Hale & catch the first train home.
