L A Turner’s Flying Log Book from 20 April 1943 to 22 July 1944 detailing training and operations as a bomb aimer. He was stationed at Grahamstown (44 Air School), RAF Forres (No. 19 Operational Training Unit), RAF Marston Moor (No. 1652 Conversion Unit), RAF Melbourne (No. 10 Squadron). Aircraft in which flown: Anson, Oxford, Whitley, Halifax. Records 33 completed operations (15 day, 18 night) on the following targets in Belgium, France, Germany and Netherlands: Thiverny, Nucourt, Caen, Bottrop, May-sur-Orne, Dijon, Tirlemont, Brest, Sterkrade, Lumbres, Soesterberg, Le Havre, Kattegat (minelaying), Munster, Gelsenkirchen, Kiel, Boulogne, Dusseldorf, Calais, Essen, Cologne, Duisburg, Hagen, Bingen. His pilot on operations was Flying Officer Harrison.

Extracts from Peter Baxter’s Flying Log Book as Flight Engineer from February 1938 until 16 June 1946. The extract only includes his flying record and is missing front and end covers, details of postings and aircraft flown.
After pre-aircrew flying, he was posted to 12 Squadron for operations in 1942. After completing his first tour of 30 operations posted to 1667 Conversion Unit, then No. 1 Lancaster Finishing School. In November 1944 posted to 153 Squadron for 2nd tour. Post war posting to 50 Squadron and attachment to 57 Squadron.
Served at RAF Penrhos, RAF Wickenby, RAF Faldingworth, RAF Hemswell, RAF Scampton, RAF Sturgate, Raf Waddington.
Aircraft flown were Avro Tutor, Fairey Battle, Whitley, Anson, Lancaster, Halifax.
He flew 33 night bombing and mining operations with 12 Squadron as Flight Engineer to targets including La Rochelle, North Frisian Islands, Essen, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Turin, Lorient, Milan, Bremen, Nuremberg, Saint-Nazaire, Duisburg, Frankfurt, Spezia, Stuttgart, Gulf of Danzig, Bay of Biscay, Mulheim, Wuppertal and Cologne. His pilots in 12 Squadron were Wing Commander Villiers and Squadron Leader Slade.
With 153 Squadron he flew 3 night and 1 day bombing operations to Wanne-Eickel, Bonn, Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen and Paderborn. Also 3 Operation Manna, 2 Operation Dodge and one Cook’s Tour. In 153 Squadron his pilots were Flying Officers White, Bolton, Searle, Freeborn, Squadron Leader Rippingale, Flight Lieutenant Ramsden and Wing Commanders Rodney and Villiers.
Also two Operation Dodge with 50 Squadron. Flight Lieutenant Lundy was his pilot in 50 Squadron.

Flying log book for Peter Lovatt covering the period from 12 April 1944 to 20 June 1945. Detailing his flying training and operations flown. He was stationed at RAF Burnaston (16 EFTS), RAF Barrow/Walney Island (10 AGS), RAF Oulton (223 Squadron). Aircraft flown in were Tiger Moth, Anson, Liberator, Fortress. He flew a total of 38 night-time bomber support operations with 223 Squadron, many providing Window cover for the main force. Main force targets were Duisburg, Denmark, Bochum, Hanover, western Ruhr, Neuss, Essen, Mönchengladbach, Merseburg, Karlsruhe, Ludwigshaven, Mannheim, Nuremberg, Magdeburg, Stuttgart, Siegen, Dresden, Wiesbaden, Watten, Dortmund-Ems canal, Freiburg, Kamen, Munster, Frankfurt, Ulm, Hamburg, Kiel, Augsburg and Wesel. His pilots on operations were Flight Lieutenant Hastie and Flying Officer Spicer.

Robert Mitchell’s Flying Log Book, from 19th July 1943 to 7th January 1954, recording training, operations and other post-war duties as a Pilot. No flights are recorded in the years 1947-1950. Based at RAF Long Marston (No. 24 OTU), RAF Topcliffe (1659 Heavy Conversion unit), RAF Leeming (429 RCAF Squadron), RAF Skipton, RCAF Station Dartmouth Nova Scotia (RCAF Eastern Air Command) and Windsor Airport Ontario (Operation Chipmunk). Aircraft in which flown: Wellington III, Wellington X, Halifax, Lancaster I, Lancaster III, Lancaster X, Oxford, Beechcraft Expeditor, Dakota, Anson V, Hudson and Chipmunk. Records 33 operations in total but only 24 in detail (19 night, 5 day). Targets in Germany and Norway are: Bochum, Castrop-Rauxel, Dortmund, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Hanover, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Kiel Canal, Mainz, Neuss, Oberhausen, Oslo, Oslo Fjord, Soest, Wanne-Eickel and Zweibrucken. His pilots for his first 'second dickie' operations were Flying Officer Gillis and Flying Officer Barlow.
Also includes letters relating to Canadian war service call-up.

Pilot's flying log book for Roy Hastie. It covers his RAF service from 9 December 1940 to 31 March 1946 and then his RAF Auxilliary Service flying to 23 May 1952. Detailing his flying training and operations flown firstly with Coastal Command and then with Bomber Command. He was stationed at RAF Perth, RAF Thornaby, RAF Squires Gate, RAF Eastleigh, East Coast USA, Trinidad, RAF Catfoss, Nassau, Bahamas, RAF Oulton, RAF Feltwell, RAF Riccall, RAF Lulsgate Bottom and RAF Dishforth. Aircraft flown in were Tiger Moth, Oxford, Tutor, Hudson, Blenheim, Botha, Beaufighter, B-25, B-24, Proctor, Hurricane, Spitfire, Chipmunk and Anson. With Coastal Command he flew anti-shipping operations with 53 Squadron, including a ditching. He transferred to 223 Squadron in Bomber Command and flew 39 operations, mostly using Window in a counter-measures and spoof attacks role but including some bombing attacks. Targets include Hamburg, Bochum, Hanover, Ruhr region, Neuss, Duisburg, Essen, Karlsruhe, Ludwigshafen, Ulm, Cologne, Munich, Magdeburg, Stuttgart, Siegen, Dresden, Chemnitz, Dortmund-Ems Canal, Wesel, Kiel, and Augsberg.

He served as a flight engineer with 10 Squadron from RAF Melbourne until he was shot down on his 18th operation over Denmark 14 February 1945. Two of his crew were killed but he evaded with the help of the Danish resistance.

The log book covers the training an operational career of Flight Engineer Syd Marshall from 28 July 1944 to March 1945, with occasional notes added through 2008. <p>Flying log book for navigator’s, air bomber, air gunner’s, flight engineers for W. Daymont, flight engineer, covering the period from 11 August 1944 to 24 August 1945. Detailing his flying training and operations flown. He was stationed at RAF St Athan, RAF Hemswell, RAF Grimsby, RAF Elsham Wolds and RAF Driffield. Aircraft flown in were Halifax and Lancaster. He flew a total of 28 operations with 100 Squadron, 8 daylight and 20 night. Targets were Düsseldorf, Bochum, Dortmund, Wanne-Eickel, Aschaffenburg, Duren, Essen, Hamburg, Heligoland, Bremen, Berchtesgaden, Freiburg, Cologne, Leuna, Zeitz, Kleve, Dresden, Chemnitz, Duisberg, Pforzheim, Dessau, Kassel, Misburg, Plauen and Berlin. He also flew one Operation Exodus and two Operation Manna flights. His pilot on operations was Flying Officer Butler. </p>
