Dear Sir or Madam, Now that our Civil Defence duties are finished it is with satisfaction and gratification that I am able to say the Service has fulfilled all that was asked of it, indeed in many instances messenger s have undertaken work which has been outside their duty and have done it willingly and well. Please accept my sincere thanks for your loyal support to me in what has been a very pleasant duty, and I hope that friendships and contacts made may last a very long time. The Final Parade of all the Civil Defence Services will take place on Sunday 10th June next. Meet – Parkfield Cedars School, 2.30 p.m.; when I would like evry member of the Service to attend.
