Top - 106 Squadron Lancaster W4118, ZN-Y "Admiral Prune" at a dispersal, RAF Syerston, November 1942. The aircraft is being loaded with sea mines by a group of armourers and there is an airman sitting in the pilot's position. In the background is Manchester L7434, awaiting disposal, after its last operation on 4/5 June - the last Manchester.

Bottom - Target photograph. featuring the silhouette of another Lancaster at a lower altitude. The adjoining annotation - largely a repetition of data on the reverse of the photograph, reads: "Taken from ZN-Y Admiral Prune... 301/31 Jan 1943, Hamburg, 18000', Pilot F/Lt D J Shannon"
WARNING: this annotation is problematic as the 106 Sqn Operational Record Book lists the aircraft flown by F/Lt Shannon as W4156 - NOT W4118 "Admiral Prune", that did not participate in this operation."
