Robert Haire’s Flying Log Book for Navigators, Air Bombers, Air Gunners, Flight Engineers from 12th February 1944 until 20th July 1945. During this time trained as an air gunner. Trained at No. 1 Air Gunners School, No. 17 Operational Training Unit, 1654 Heavy Conversion Unit and No. 5 Lancaster Finishing School. Posted to 467 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, for operations in September 1944.

Served at RAF Pembrey, RAF Turweston, RAF Silverstone, RAF Wigsley, RAF Syerston, RAF Waddington, RAF Dyce.

Aircraft flown were Anson, Wellington, Stirling, Lancaster, Mosquito. Robert carried out 29 bombing operations (9 day and 20 night) as the rear gunner. His targets were Dortmund-Ems canal, Calais, Karlsruhe, Wilhelmshaven, Bremen, Walcheren Dyke, Walcheren Island, Flushing, Brunswick, Nurnberg, Dortmund-Ems Canal, Ems-Weser Canal, Harburg, Duren, Trondheim, Munich, Heilbronn, Rheydt, Houffalize, Merseburg, Brux, Dresden, Rositz, Mitteland Canal, Bohlen, Essen, Dortmund, and Hamburg.

His pilot for all his operations was Flight Lieutenant Forge.

On the 11th of November 1944 his aircraft was attacked by a Focke-Wolfe FW190. He was further attached on the 9th April 1945 by a Messerschmidt Me262 and also sustained damage to his turret from anti-aircraft fire.
