Norman Eley’s RAF Pilot’s Flying Log Book

Norman Eley’s RAF Pilot’s Flying Log Book (three log books bound into one volume, pages not all in chronological order) from 22 March 1943 to 3 September 1958. Records training, operations, instructional and other duties (including civil flying) as a Pilot. Also contains pictures of aircraft flown and occasional annotations. He was stationed at RAF Sywell (No. 6 Elementary Flying Training School), RCAF Station Caron (No. 33 Elementary Flying Training School), RCAF Station Weyburn (No. 41 Service Flying Training School), RAF Snitterfield (No. 18 (Pilots) Advanced Flying Unit), RAF Fiskerton (No. 1514 Beam Approach Training Flight), RAF Oakley (No. 11 Operational Training Unit), RAF Bottesford (No. 1668 Heavy Conversion Unit), RAF Waterbeach (514 Squadron), RAF Spilsby (207 Squadron), RAF Marham (Development Wing, Central Bomber Establishment), Southend and Denham Aerodrome, Rochester Airport (No. 24 Reserve Flying School), RAF Oakington ((No. 1 Flying Training School), RAF North Luffenham (No. 102 Flying Refresher School), RAF Bishops Court (Co Down NI) (No. 3 Air Navigation School), RAF Leconfield (Central Gunnery School), Stansted Airport (Skyways Ltd). Aircraft flown: DH82 Tiger Moth, Cornell, Harvard, Oxford, Wellington, Lancaster, Auster, Lincoln, Mosquito, Anson, Proctor, Magister, Spitfire, Vampire, Meteor, Chipmunk, Rapide, Dominie, York, Argonaut, Constellation, Dakota, Hermes, Dove, Records eight operations (one night, seven day). Targets in Germany and Netherlands were: Hüls, Bruchstrasse, Hallendorf, Merseburg, Heligoland, Regensburg, Rotterdam (food supplies), The Hague (supply dropping). First pilot for first operation was F/O Gibson, and for first night operation was F/O Sutton. Also records a Ruhr tour and several flights for Operation Dodge.
