Robert Greer’s Pilot’s Flying Log Book from 1st April 1943 until 20th March 1945 . Initially a pilot instructor with the United States Army Air Force. Posted to No 31 Personnel Depot in Canada prior to departing to the United Kingdom in September 1943. Posted to No 3 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit Detachment, with a course at No. 1531 Beam Approach Training Flight.

In July 1944 posted to 76 Operational Training Unit, Palestine, and then 1675 Heavy Conversion Unit. Operational positing to 178 Squadron, part of Central Mediterranean Force.

After the last operation listed in the logbook (20th March 1945) there is a “Death Presumed” stamp.

Served at USAAF Moody Field, RCAF Monkton, RAF Southrop, RAF South Cerney, RAF Cranage, RAF Aqir, RAF Abu Sueir, RAF Amendola.

Aircraft flown were Beechcraft AT-10 Wichita, Curtiss-Wright AT-9 Jeep, North American T-6 Texan (also known as the Harvard), Cessna AT-17/C-78 Bobcat, Oxford, Wellington X, B-24 Liberator.

Robert carried out a total of 42 operations (6 day and 18 night bombing, 14 day and 4 night supply/troop carrying operations). His targets included Podgorica, Uzice, Hassani, Sarajevo, Casarsa, Circhina, Doboj, Udine, Tuzla, Pola, Crnomelj, Verona, Padua, Brescia, Graz, Treviso, Monfalcone, Vicenza, Bruck, Pragarsko. His pilot on his first operation was Flying Officer Morrison. Robert was the pilot for all his other operations.
