A formal group of 46 bandsmen with instruments.
Two men at the front are lying sideways on the grass. Behind them are ten bandsmen and in the middle behind a bass drum, an officer, who has pilots wings on his tunic. Behind them stand three rows of bandsmen.
Behind the group is a low hedge and a row of trees.
The man standing behind the officer is wearing a bass drummer's leopard skin apron.
Herbert Paice is in the seated row, fourth from the left.
On the reverse is written: "Bert Paice Front row 4th from left".
