My Dear Edd, we were very pleased to receive a letter from you yesterday dated 8.4.44 mentioning you wish to have a letter from me, well hear [sic] I am Edd after all this long time but as you know Edd, I always leave the writing to [underlined] Dad [/underlined] but as you know Edd I cant express my feelings towards you and that is why I don’t write, I am always thinking of you and longing for [inserted] your [/inserted] return and happy day when we shall all meet again, all I can say Edd I am very lucky Mother and very thankful to know that one day I shall

be seeing you again and I do hope it wont be very long, we returned from Mrs Donnelly last Thursday after having a very nice time I like Mrs Donelley very much Iola and also there Grandad little did I ever [deleted] thought [/deleted] [inserted] think [/inserted] I was going to pass the station you went from, thoughts went through our mind, well Edd we passed a very nice church near Donny’s and she asked me if I liked it, and I said yes, so she said one day you will go inside, or mentioned another one so I said she will have to give us plenty of time, not to be caught like we were at poor old Doll’s weding [sic], all I can Edd I think you will be going into a nice family, so hears [sic] wishing you all the very best of good luck and look after yourself Edd God Bless yours ever Mum and Dad xxxx
