Cigarette case
Title
Cigarette case
Eric Boumphrey's cigarette case
Description
RAF pilot's wings are embossed on the outside of the lid and the inside is engraved: "From Claude To Eric. 9/1/41.'
Inside both parts the hallmark of the Birmingham Assay Office can be seen.
There are two lugs for the retaining strap, some threads of which are still present.
The hinge is a simple piano type, with the lugs present on both parts but the central pin is missing.
Documents accompanying this item indicate that this was a 21st birthday present to Eric Boumphrey from his brother, Claude.
