Starts with description of unrelated envelope, Then transcripts of prisoner of war air letters 29 July, 9 August and start of one from 15 August 1940. First sent three weeks after he was shot down asking for news from home, hope for the future . Second mentions weather, growing a beard (lack of razor), advice on finance, birthday greetings. Third, now 5 weeks incarcerated and no word that family knows he is safe as prisoner of war.
