Title

The log book entry

Description

Description from a South African log book covering the period September 1943 to October 1944. The entry refers to an operation in which Lancaster PA984 was lost and provides details of the flight, target and crew. The author explains that, following misinterpretation of a message sent by the French Resistance, the families of the crew were initially given the names of survivors which were, in fact, the names of those buried by the Resistance in a local cemetery. Includes entries from the squadron operational record book.
