Stanley Wareing’s Pilot’s Flying Log Book from 23rd January 1943 until 8th February 1953. The first entry in this log book is as a pilot with 28 Operational Training Unit. Posted to 57 Squadron for operations in February 1943. In April posted to 97 Squadron (Pathfinder Force). In August posted to 23 Operational Training Unit. In June 1945 attended No. 17 Service Flying Training School for refresher training. More training at No. 9 Reserve Flying School in March 1948 and then at monthly intervals until 1953.

Served at RAF Pershore, RAF Scampton, RAF Bourn, RAF Doncaster.

Aircraft flown were Wellington, Lancaster I, Lancaster III, Mentor, Tiger Moth, Oxford, Anson, Prentice.

With 57 Squadron, Wareing flew 11 night bombing operations as the pilot. His targets were Cologne, Hamburg, Essen, Nurnberg, Berlin, Kiel, Duisburg, Spezia, Pilsen.

On posting to 97 Squadron he flew 18 night bombing operations. Targets were Duisburg, Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Wuppertal, Münster, Bochum, Cologne, Krefeld, Mülheim, Hamburg and Remscheid.
