Description
Bomber Command wartime memoirs 1939-45 by Ted Allison. He completed 35 bomber operations as wireless operator/air gunner 1941-43, which he described as being looked down upon. The introduction describes his role as a Wop/Ag and how they're replaced by H2S radar and later Oboe. Ted recounts of the disparity in respect given to Wop/Ag's compared to pilots. In chapter one he expresses a desire to always have wanted to join the RAF, however he tells of his eventful start to life of applying and starting training school for the RAF. The remaining chapters detail his operational career and his spell as an instructor. It concludes with him being shot down on his second tour and being the only survivor of his crew.
