Title

Harry George Samual Garnham
Garnham, HGS summary of research

Description

The document gives details of his birth in 1917 and his parents in Suffolk and tells us he was called up for service in 1940.
There then follows a summary of a typical training route to becoming an air gunner and it is presumed Harry followed this before being posted to 83 Squadron at RAF Scampton, where he flew in Avro Manchesters.
The research now gives details of three operations on which Harry flew. He was killed on the last of these when his aircraft collided with a barrage balloon cable and crashed.
Harry was buried in his local churchyard in Brantham and the research includes burial details (some of it handwritten after printing) of the other six crew members killed in the crash.
The article concludes with a photograph of Harry's gravestone.
