A coloured booklet of text and photographs describing the loss of Wellington R1397 on a return flight from an operation to Emden. The aircraft was shot down by the German pilot Helmut Lent. Head and shoulders photographs of Lent and the crew of R1397 are included.
The crew were:
Pilot Officer Mervyn Sydney Lund (pilot);
Sergeant Arthur Edward Owen (pilot);
Sergeant John James Cox (Air Observer);
Sergeant Frank Gordon Walker (Gunner);
Sergeant Alfred John Le Poidevin (Wireless Operator/Air Gunner);
Sergeant Roy Penry Williams (Wireless Operator/Air Gunner).

Details are provided of a website that provides an overview of all locations in Friesland where aircraft crashed or made emergency landings.
