Crew of F Freddie were reunited in Canada 40 years after the war and recorded tape in 1984. Conversation directed by the pilot. Role of flight engineer and wireless operator described. Crew listed: Flying Officer Doug Williams - pilot, Sgt Victor Garland - flight engineer. Flying Officer Wesley Milne - navigator, Sgt Donald Schurman - wireless operator, Sgt Jack Corner - bomb aimer, Sgt G Russell Morey - mid upper gunner, M J McLaughlin (deceased) rear gunner. Some comments on crew. Conversation relates experiences, events during wartime including incidents during operations. They mention where they come from and a little on training. Questions answered on opinion of Bomber Command, recollection of first operation, how aircraft felt, memorable moments, off duty time, the English, victory celebrations, opinion on Hiroshima. Discuss crews' post-war activity. Includes photograph of crew and individuals. Followed by memory written by P/O Williams to his crew in 1994. Remembers incident on 5 November 1945 concerning engine failure on Halifax. Followed by transcript from log book of Victor Garland (detailed in separate item).
