He was stationed at RAF Wombleton (No. 1666 Heavy Conversion Unit) and RAF Leeming (429 Squadron). Aircraft flown: Halifax, Lancaster.

Targets in France, Germany and Norway were: Oberlar, Stuttgart, Mainz, Osterfeld, Goch, Bohlen, Wesel, Chemnitz, Hemmingstedt, Hamburg, Oslo Fjord (Mining), Dortmund, Zweibrucken, Kiel Bay (mining), Schwandorf, The Skaw Denmark (mining).
His pilot on operations was Flight Lieutenant Williams.
Also records participation in Operation Exodus and Dodge, and bomb disposal and Ruhr trips.
