Seems I’ve almost forgotten you or have I, I don’t seem to be able to get you out of my system. (sounds bad don’t it?). Well it seems ages ago since I saw your smiling face over the top of a pint & I might add the sooner I see it again the better, to tell the truth I’m thoroughly “browned off” to the limit. “In my solitude you havn’t me”. What with endless rain & fog etc, this place is beginning to get me down, these periods of inactivity are rather depressing & I don’t’ seem to be making any progress towards this

so -called battle for democracy. I wouldn’t mind if I could get into operational type aircraft.by way of a change I went on a 48 last week-end to the usual place, London & spent more than I did on 7 days leave, we were just paid before going on leave & now I need another pay-day. If I get another weekend a fortnight from now I’m coming home for a change. Atherton isn’t much of a place I know but it’s all right for a change & if you don’t mind I’d be much obliged if we got heartily pissed, my case is rather pathetic don’t you think. By the way how’s the budding romance in Leigh getting along or is it? Bickershaw Brickworks (?) is rather a long

way What sort of a time did you have with Bill (ha ha) Rowley? I should imagine it was anything but quiet, more so if your Frank was on leave too, I expect they played merry hell while things lasted.
