Description

Was wireless operator/air gunner. Flew 1440 hours wartime mostly on instructional flying. Outlines initial RAF training in Blackpool followed by ground posting at RAF Syerston with 304 and 305 Squadrons until radio and flying courses and returning to the same squadrons, now at RAF Lindholme. Then to RAF Jurby on Blenheims. Eventually to RAF West Freugh on the Advance Navigator & Flying School and finally to RAF Cark on the staff pilot training unit.
