Title

Letter from Dorothy May to her husband Paul

Description

A series of German newspaper birth, death and birthday announcements are followed by a letter from "Mog" to her "Teddy" dated 2nd January, Freiburg.

Teddy is said to be in Russia and Mog is clearly distressed at his absence and lack of letters. She is hiding her grief from his mother, who is depressed by the news in Teddy’s last letter. Mog goes on to tell him about what she had been reading and doing, including her knitting activities for which she has been paid. She fills him in on local news, including an attack on a local resident and smashed shop windows. Mog explains how the radio signal is disappearing, which might be a precursor to sirens. She is preparing a parcel for him with supplies and newspapers.
