You will be pleased to hear that my friends in France sent me a small snapshot of my comrades graves & that through the good offices of Mr & Mrs Footman the bombardiers parents who secured some enlargements am able to send a copy for your retention as I feel sure you will wish to have it.
I trust you & Violet & John are well and would like to wish you all the very best of luck for the coming year.
You may be interested to hear that have just received news that have been awarded the D.F.C. with effect from 2 May 1944 and would like you to know that I consider this not a personal award but rather reflecting credit on us as a crew.
When you can spare the time I should just like to have a postcard to say that you received the photograph safely. Sincerely yours.
