He was stationed at 2 Initial Training School RAAF Bradfield park, 7 Service Flying Training School RAAF Deniliquin, 14 (Pilots) Advanced Flying Unit RAF Banff and RAF Dallachy, 26 Operational Training Unit RAF Wing and RAF Little Harwood, 1657 Heavy Conversion Unit RAF Shepherds Grove, 3 Lancaster Finishing School RAF Feltwell, 622 Squadron RAF Mildenhall, 84 Operation Training Unit RAF Desford and 3 Flying Instructors School RAF Lulsgate Bottom. Aircraft flown in were Tiger Moth, Wirraway, Oxford, Wellington, Stirling and Lancaster. He flew a total of 30 operations with 622 squadron, 21 Daylight and 9 Night operations. Targets were Bremen, Kiel, Stettin, Le Havre, Kamen, Frankfurt, Calais, Neuss, Saarbrucken, Dortmund, Kleve, Duisburg, Bonn, Stuttgart, Essen, Cologne, Wesseling, Homberg, Solingen, Castrop-Rauxel, Gelsenkirchen, Fulda, Bottrop, Oberhausen, Kattegat and Trier.
