Description
Flying log book for N Goodfellow, Navigator, covering the period from July 1943 to December 1945. Detailing his flying training, operations flown and instructor duties. He was stationed at 1 Central Navigation School RCAF Rivers, 8 (Observer’s) Advanced Flying Unit RAF Wigtown, 16 Operational Training Unit RAF Upper Heyford, 1654 Heavy Conversion Unit RAF Wigsley, 5 Lancaster Finishing School RAF Syerston, 50 Squadron RAF Skellingthorpe, 1661 Heavy Conversion Unit RAF Winthorpe, 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit RAF Lindholme and 1660 Heavy Conversion Unit RAF Swinderby. Aircraft flown in were Anson, Oxford, Wellington, Stirling and Lancaster. He flew a total of 29 operations with 50 Squadron, 12 daylight and 17 night operations. Targets were Brest, Le Havre, Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Boulogne, Bremerhaven, Rheydt, Wilhelmshaven, Bremen, Walcheren, Flushing, Brunswick, Nurnberg, Bergen, Homberg, Duren, Trondheim, Munich, Heilbronn, Giessen, Urft Dam, Ladbergen, Royan, Houffalize and Politz. His pilots on operations were Flying Officer Marris and Squadron Leader Flint.
