Observer's and air gunner's flying log book from 23 December 1944 to 13 June 1946. William flew 27 operations, 9 night time and 18 daylight, as wireless operator, including Operation Manna. He served in 149 and 158 Squadrons and flew in Lancaster aircraft with pilot, Flight Officer J A White. Operations were to Vohwinkel, Ludwisshaven, Duisburg, Köln, Frefeld, Munchen Gladbach, Wiesbaden, Dortmund, Hohenbudberg, Dreseden, Chemnitz, Wesel, Osterfeld, Gelsenkircken, Salzbergen, Datteln, Hattingen, Hallendorf, Merseburgh, Rotterdam and Hague.
