The symptoms included are: 'Complete failure, Ditto early in flight, Magic eye dark, Instability - eye closed all the time, Weak signals, No signals, No CW, No signals hiss or noise in telephones No signals on HF but OK on MF, Whistles and oscillations on all ranges, Visual D/F will not balance, Visual needles uncontrollable on loud signals, Visual needles rise but do not move with loop, One side of visual meter U/S, Volume control inoperative in omni position, Rotation of PA tuning does not alter feed, Aerial current low, No side tone, No feed current, Low input, Excessive input, Low output, Excessive Output, Input but no output on HF and Input but no output on MF'. Page ten presents a table of valves identifying each by number, type and duty.
