Title

Letter from Grace Hopgood to Madame Guyon

Description

The letter from Grace to Mme Guyot concerns her daughter, Elizabeth. She was due to collect her in the summer but informs Mme Guyot that her older brother will be in France around the first week of June from a business trip to Morocco and could collect Elizabeth. A permit to leave France would be needed from the British Consul (Colonel Poynder Mears) whom Grace would contact. She asks Mme Guyot only to let Elizabeth leave with her brother whom Elizabeth knows very well. She does not name her brother in case the letter is intercepted but Elizabeth will share the name with her. Grace includes a cheque for payment for Elizabeth up to 16th June.
