Glad to receive his letter but sad that his parcel had not arrived and commiserating that he was not allowed home despite a week off. Hoped he had a good time at Christmas. Writes of their activities over Christmas including theatre visit. Mentions another visit a location where there was real coal. Continues with further description of activities. Expecting his letter with description of his Christmas and noting there was no chance of leave for new year. Best wishes from other family members.
