Win Darling!
(Yes that’s how I’m feeling) This afternoon we finished work at 3’oc so we have time to write a few letters. Had a lovely hot shower followed by a cold rub down, then tea, so I’m feeling just fine.
The letters from here are being censored, so we have to mind our P’s Q’s. Several of the fellows have had letters returned.
The daily routine here is as follows:-Up at 6:15 am, on parade at 7:45am, lectures start at 8:15am. We go on the range with the guns, having every thing [sic]explained in the lecture room, sit in and work the gun turrets on the ground, then do both in the air. That is a rough outline of the day.
The food here is not as good as we had at Tangmere, but it’s
[page break]
not bad, its got that Scottish touch
By Friday evening everybody was feeling a bit ‘mopey’ with the strain of the work! So [deleted] that [/deleted] we held our own “brazy night” in the dormitory, the whole hut was in roars of laughter from 9’oc until 10:30, just honest raging, pillow fights, beds suddenly callopsing[sic] etc.
I hope Brenda has had a happy Birthday, I’m afraid the card I sent her [inserted] in time [/inserted] as the mail everdently [sic] takes a long time getting to and from this outlandish spot. Nobody in the hut has received a letter from home yet!
Trust everybody at home is quite well and happy, and all the boys OK.
So cheerio darling for the time being.
Jack
