Kieler Wahre Nachrichten

Title

Kieler Wahre Nachrichten

Description

The leaflet tries to make comparisons between 1917-1918 and 1939-1940 with victory in the east followed by a return to misery. It refutes the claim in the German press that ships forming part of British convoys are going to their death. Instead, there are said to be significant U-boat losses, mirroring 1917-18 when reporting of losses was suppressed. Gaps are being filled with untrained naval officers and crews from the Hitler Youth.

Sailors from Kiel, Hamburg and Bremen send their greetings from England, presumably as prisoners of war.
