He relates that he was a Halifax mid-upper gunner who was shot down and wounded by a Ju 88 on 12 January 1945. He goes on to describe his experiences as a prisoner of war, including being hospitalised and undertaking a forced march and boxcar ride. He was released in April by American forces.
