SB: What was the name again you said of those twins on 99 who got —
ND: Ernie and Les Evans.
SB: And they are the ones that probably came up with Wimpy —
ND: Yeah. That’s what the story goes which was I mean I joined the squadron in May and these blokes had been on the squadron [unclear] lots of them.
SB: So when you, when you joined the squadron in May ’39 were they calling them Wimpies then?
ND: Yeah.
SB: They were.
ND: Oh yeah.
SB: Right. Ok.
ND: They were calling on Wimpies then.
SB: Yeah.
ND: Because that, that cartoon was, I think it was the “Daily Sketch.” Wimpy Wellington.
SB: Well, yeah. It was from “Popeye,” wasn’t it?
ND: Yeah.
SB: Popeye’s.
ND: An American Popeye thing. Yeah.
SB: Yeah. Oh right. Ok.
