Introduction from Arthur Harris for Hamish Mahaddie

Introductory letter from Sir Arthur Harris for Hamish Mahaddie, in support of Mahaddie's post-war lecture tour of Australia and New Zealand. Harris greets Bomber Command veterans and describes the significance of their contribution to the war. Quoting Hitler, Goebbels, Speer et al on the German side and Eisenhower, Tedder and Montgomery on the Allied side he affirms that the strategic and the tactical bombing, especially at Bastogne, was greatly instrumental in bringing about victory. He ends by urging future generations to read the books written by Goebbels and Speer to discover just what their grandfathers did during the war and he sends his warmest regards to all.
