My Dear Doris,
Hello sister, how are you today, very well I hope? I must apologise for not writing before, but since returning here from my embarkation leave I have had a difficult job to keep up with my correspondence & really it has been so very cold for writing & now I have my old trouble, throat trouble, & when I am better again the M.O. is going to arrange for me to have my tonsils removed.
Since my wedding Doris, I have written that number of letters that I hardly remember if I thanked you for the wonderful present you & Arthur gave us; gosh we are pleased with it & I saw it last week-end, while on a 48 hr pass. I have written Arthur, thanking him & do hope he has conquered his course & trust he does well.
Doris have you any of our wedding photos, if not mother will in all probability be sending them to you, as I am having nothing to do with them, my wifes doing that job. hah hah sounds good doesn’t it?
Well, news from this front is somewhat scance, [sic] & I hope all is well where you are, seems old Jerry is saving up his bombers for some

reason or other. Doris I am not feeling too good this evening, as you can guess; very little voice, rotten throat & head, never mind I’ll soon throw it off & then get rid of my tonsils, once & for always. So for present cheerio, & keep smiling & I wish you all the very best. Remember me to Arthur & hope to be seeing you all soon. Cheerio!
Your Loving Brother,
Arthur.
