THERE WE WERE . . .

An off-duty drink in the Officers’ Mess with Wing Commander D. Iveson, the Chief Flying Instructor (second from left) telling one of his large store of Service stories. Affectionately known as “Hank” he is soon to say goodbye to his brother-officers and take command of a station of his own. Among the more artistic members of the Mess opinions differ over the decor of the bar. But all agree that there is nothing wrong with the atmosphere of convivial companionship.
