Wednesday 8th Nov. 1944
Mr John,
I will willingly correspond with you. If you can write in German, I would be very pleased, as I know English very little and it is difficult for me to use your language. We all Polish are very fond of English people and would like to be in contact with you. For the moment it is only allowed for us to write letters. We are satisfied with this camp. Here we are much better than the preceding one. We feel the sympathy and friendship surrounds us. You English, Americans, French and Dutch are so nice for us, you take care of us. We are grateful for this kindness. I would be very pleased if you could tell me a little of you, perhaps you are a pilote [sic]? aren’t you? I am an airwoman myself, and would very much like to correspond with a pilote. All the questions concerning an airman’s life interest me exceedingly. I have a great envy to learn English, but I have no books and am short of paper. If you could send me [deleted] some [/deleted] a book (first steps in English) and a copy-book, I should be very grateful. [deleted] And a vocabulary [/deleted]?
