Dear Mrs Hunt

Thankyou so much for your very welcome letter I have not written before my mother wrote to you.

I am sure you must feel awfully sad having heard that your only Son is missing maybe a mothers love is stronger than a wife’s my husband was an only Son and my mother-in-law is being very brave and you both must be suffering, being a mother I know how one must feel and I pray with all my heart our dear ones are safe

My husband and I were so happy to - gether [sic] I just can’t believe God would part us so soon.

I have two little girls one eight one three of course I find

some consolation but nothing can make up for my husband and I have every faith he will return I will pray for us all and I trust God to answer our prayers

I shall write again soon
