My darlings Peg & Vernon
I hope these few lines will find our three dear ones well & happy. I am thankful to say Dad, Eileen, girlies, Bernard & I are A.1. no more news yet of our darling boy Lawrence, this waiting for news is awful as we dont know what to expect; but hope & trust our dear one is safe & well somewhere.
Many thanks for the Police Magazine which came to hand safe last week & the group enclosed.
Bernard has’nt left England yet, but ac: to his last he does’nt think it will be long now before he goes, & we wont know, as they are not allowed to write & give us any news, then it will be months before we hear, as its only when he arrives at his destination, he can inform us where he is.
Oh! I do wish this cruel war would come to an end, as it seems such a waste of young life.
I dont know if I told you Paul Jenkins has gone that is the two Brothers; both in the R.A.F. Hope your garden & poultry are going strong, Dad keeps pottering about, but cant do much & cant get any help now.
We are having better weather, but

still remains chilly at night.
I hope Peg dear you get good news of & from your dear ones; I have not heard or seen Kathleen since her Mother called in for a few hours on their way [indecipherable word] prove [indecipherable words] they had been to see your brother & his wife.
Well I will close now hoping you are getting my letters O.K. Bye bye with a fond God bless our three loved sons, look after each other & yourselves & both look after our little Diana & kiss her for each of us.
